Having trouble getting a good night’s sleep? CBD can provide relief for issues such as anxiety and insomnia. Discover how it can help you fight insomnia and get better rest with our guide to using CBD for sleep.

Why use CBD against insomnia

Insomnia and sleep disorders can be caused by a variety of things. Anxiety and stress are often the causes of insomnia, but medication, caffeine consumption and external factors such as noise and temperature can also trigger sleep disorders. So, how can CBD help you sleep better?

Cannabidiol is a versatile natural remedy that’s been used for thousands of years to help combat stress, anxiety and insomnia. According to a study* on the effects of cannabidiol on anxiety and sleep published in 2019, CBD could improve sleep and reduce anxiety. Out of the 72 subjects, who suffered from anxiety and poor sleep, anxiety scores decreased for 79.2% of subjects and sleep scores improved for 66.7% of them within the first month of using CBD.

How to use CBD to sleep better

If you’re having trouble sleeping, it can be helpful to start including CBD in your daily routine, but the type of product and the amount and frequency of use will depend on your profile. The best CBD products to help you sleep better are:
CBD drops. CBD drops are a great option to help you sleep better. They allow CBD to be metabolised and distributed all over the body for longer-lasting benefits and a source of everyday relief. Take them 3 to 5 hours before bedtime to sleep soundly at night.
CBD vapes. If you’re a vape user, CBD e-liquids can also be a good solution for you, as absorption rate is higher than other forms of delivery and the gaseous form ensures a better distribution around the body for a good night’s sleep. The effects can be felt in as little as 30 seconds but are typically shorter-lived than other methods.

If you’re using CBD for your sleep, it’s always useful to calculate when to take it so you can start feeling the effects when going to bed. Not sure of the dosage? We recommend starting off at a lower amount and working your way up as needed.
