Let’s spread some positivity with World Kindness Day, the day where we are reminded to be kind to others and ourselves. Below we’ve listed our top tips on self-care and random acts of kindness that you can try.

Acts of kindness to yourself

1. Move your body

We know that not everyone likes to exercise but that’s not the only way to move your body. Why don’t you go for a walk around the neighbourhood or to the nearest park? Moving your body produces happy hormones and changing your environment from the usual can also boost your mood, making you feel refreshed.

2. Plan for some quiet time

Make some time in your busy schedule for you. Be it an hour or two at the end of the day, or a whole day to yourself, set yourself a quiet time where you can do what you enjoy without interruption. You’ll thank yourself later.

3. Treat yourself to something small

Sometimes it’s the small things that really make a difference. Give yourself a little treat, be it a coffee at your favourite coffee shop, a delicious dessert you’ve been eying for weeks or even buying yourself a new book to unwind with before bed.

4. Wind down with CBD

In the evening or after a workout is a great time for some self-care. Introduce some CBD into your routine to take your relaxation to the next level. Whether that’s with CBD vapes, a decadent pamper session with CBD creams or CBD sublingual drops popped under the tongue before settling in for the night. Let your worries drift away.

Acts of kindness to others

1. Send an uplifting message to a friend or family member

You might not know that a friend or family member has had a rough day, so for them to receive a heartfelt message from you on that day of all days, will mean the world. Sometimes it’s just nice to remind people that there’s someone thinking of them.

2. Share a compliment with a co-worker of friend

Perhaps you’ve noticed a co-worker rocking a pair of boots that you secretly love, or they’ve picked a new hairstyle that really suits them. Sharing an honest compliment can be enough to lift their spirits and yours.

3. Treat someone to a cup of coffee

It could be a friend you’re out and about with, or it could be a stranger standing next to you in the queue. If you’re able (don’t put yourself out of pocket), give yourself a little good karma and buy them their coffee. You’ll probably brighten their day and maybe even get a new friend out of it.

4. Reach out to a family member you haven’t spoken to in a while

There’s always someone in your family that you’ve been meaning to get a hold of, but life keeps getting in the way, or you just honestly forget. Make a conscious effort to reach out to a family member and check in on them, it will not only make you feel good for reconnecting but you’re sure to brighten their day.

Those are our top tips for being kind to yourself and kind to others. Always make sure to take care of yourself. If you tried any of these tips, let us know in the comments and spread kindness.
